Wedding flowers, floristry workshops and Daylesford Farm! It’s all happening……..On Tuesday it was my son Ollie’s 11th Birthday. He was no fool and skipped April 1st. However it did snow heavily on the 2nd, the date he (eventually) decided to make my world a better place. Today the skies have been laden, grey and we’ve seen (and I personally, have felt) much rain. April. Its showers bring May flowers…
Mothering Sunday weekend was a huge success, if rather exhausting! I spent most of Friday and Saturday talking to lots of new people who came to find the flower shed, whilst making up the pre ordered bouquets. My new skills goal is making something beautiful whilst listening and holding meaningful conversation! And remembering names…
The month began well for elizabeth. as it is now recognised and recommended by Muddy Stilettos Bucks & Oxon. Ha! Finally I’m in somebody’s Little Black Book. There’s a lovely little write up and I look forward to their inclusion exposing both the flower shed. and elizabeth. further afield. Click on the link to see what Muddy think.
So what does April hold? This week I’m beyond excited to be going to the Cotswolds; specifically Daylesford Farm, to attend their workshop on Floriography; the language of flowers. Be still my beating heart. I’m hoping to incorporate what I learn into an even more bespoke and personal service. The Victorians loved to use flowers in cryptic messaging; for example daisies communicated innocence and purity whilst yellow roses, infidelity. The fun to be had….! I look forward to getting into their cutting gardens and poly tunnels and sharing my ‘Tussie Mussie’ with you.
Naturally the shed. will be open for Easter and I’ll be back here showcasing the table centrepiece I’ll be offering for preorder. I can’t wait to update the instillation outside. I have the sweetest decorations to incorporate amongst Spring flowers. There is a strong possibility of chocolate goodies; if my children don’t snaffle them first! Oh ok. And me…..
Also in my sights is my first flower shed. workshop for children on the 11th May. After the massive success of the workshops I’ve held at Christmas time and listening to what you are interested in, I thought it time to do something for the littles. So some jam jar adorning and floristry is in the offing. Details of my workshop are here on my website. Book earlier rather than later as places are limited.
I'd love to chat if you are looking to come to a fun floristry workshop with me. Get in touch here and let's have a chat. Elizabeth. x
